Faith in a Cure
Faith in a Cure is a program created specifically for faith based organizations to help support the mission of the American Cancer Society. Faith in a Cure funds are restricted to transportation and lodging for patients in Tulsa and our surrounding communities who need assistance accessing their life-saving cancer treatments due to financial hardship.
Demand is High
More than 23,700 residents in Oklahoma will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Many of them will need our help accessing the care they need. Patients who cannot find a ride often delay treatment or skip it all together. In 2021, we provided more than 4,550 rides to patients in Oklahoma through the Patient Transportation Grants Program. Over 21,000 rides to life-saving cancer treatments have been given since 2018.
An Opportunity to Meet a Critical Need
This year, the American Cancer Society is seeking to raise $75,000 to provide life-saving transportation services in the Oklahoma community through our Oklahoma Patient Transportation Grants Program. The average cost of in Tulsa and our area of a one-way ride is $13.39 through our Patient Transportation Grants Program. When our goal is achieved, together we will provide an estimated 5,795 number of rides.
